"A gem in the Bronx. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and now live in Virginia. I traveled up to the Bronx for a graduation and wanted a clean and safe place to stay. The reviews were good, the room was reasonably priced, and so I made the reservation. Not much can be done about the neighborhood or the type of people that live and work and play in the area, and so I won't comment any further on that. But despite first impressions of the neighborhood, the hotel is a gem in the midst of chaos and poverty. I arrived after 10 p.m. and so was not able to park in the parking lot. Travelers, remember to look carefully at the signs regarding parking limitations. Being from NYC, I knew about the alternate-side-of-the-street parking rules. I was still able to find a spot just two blocks away and so I parked on the street during the remainder of my stay. The car was safe, no one bothered it. Check in and check out were a breeze. The clerk was friendly and knowledgeable and efficient. When I checked out, the clerk even knew what room I was in. The king-size room including the bathroom was clean, well stocked with fresh towels, and the usual sample-size shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion. The bed was comfortable. If I were to make any suggestions, I might suggest new pillows. The pillows supplied were flat. Just a preference. I like firmer and fuller pillows. The continental breakfast, by itself, gets the hotel extra stars from me. I could say more-all good, but I'm out of space."
