It's easy to stay at a generic box type hotel. The Strand has pedigree (See Raffles and E&O). It's a beautiful building with high ceilings. Beautifully decorated and clean. Very pleasant staff. Quiet and tranquil. Stay here for your first visit to Yangon, and you can always stay at a generic, branded hotel on a subsequent visit.

​Lovely, beautiful garden, lake, swimming pool, sauna, and steam room—such a beautiful place! I really loved it. The room service and customer service were perfect. ​Just make sure next time to book directly with the hotel to ensure breakfast is included. For me, it is such a lovely place, but it was a bit disappointing that breakfast wasn't included this time.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Paramus, but I did not have time to try the spa. The restaurant on the 9th floor was good as well as the breakfast. The only thing that was an issue was the internet. I could not access Facebook or Instagram.

What an amazing place! The Governor's Mansion is a beautifully landscaped, well-maintained boutique hotel with so much history and charm. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and bright. The staff are all very professional, kind and helpful. If you want a relaxing and pampered place, the Governor's Mansion is a good choice.
