「We were in the building with one other guest! It was quiet and very comfortable! The breakfast meal was superb! The young woman that prepared the food was an artist! I have never had an omelet so light and tasteful! The Rose Room had a private balcony, that allowed us to sit outside and enjoy the weather! I definitely will stay there again!」

「A treat to stay in the only remaining Frank Lloyd wright designed hotel. The staff and area in general focus on having it in mason city. Staff is very friendly. The historic tour(extra charge) was very interesting and well done. If you don’t take the tour, stop in the gift shop where the clerk appears to like sharing information, too.」

「Thank you for allowing dogs on the property. That is a plus. However, I was there four nights and had no courtesy cleaning of the room and I think that should happen at least every two nights with the provision of extra bath towels, etc..」

「Im sure the staff are trying their best, but immediately upon receiving my key... it did not work. I went back downstairs to be given a new key but was given a new room (not a big deal). I struggled to get into the property with that key too, but eventually the door opened. Once in the room was a lot cleaner than expected, but my husband was complaining about a strong odor (I lost my sense of smell a long time ago). We started investigating and discovered brown stains on the sheets. Shortly...

「Hotel room was well decorated and maintained. The staff was very friendly and took pride in keeping the rooms and breakfast room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and provided a great selection of food items. I definitely would recommend the hotel and stay there again when I am in the area.」

「The room was sufficient for my needs. Bed was comfortable though there appeared to be ink marks on the bedding. Breakfast was OK. No bacon or sausage other than the biscuit gravy and eggs were preformed circles. The waffle mix was empty and the waffle maker turned off before breakfast ended but they did get more when asked. Two kinds of cereal. 1 kind of milk. No fresh fruit that I recall. Juice was good. We had hoped to take advantage of the pool but I did not visit it during my stay.」
