"We really enjoyed our stay at this family run ryokan. Staff was friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and clean. Food was excellent and had a very warm, home cooked meal vibe. Access to town was good and easy and skiing conditions were top notch!"
Live Cafe Hisui no Umi

"Live Cafe no Umi is a chance to stay in a traditional Japanese home and experience home cooking and true hospitality. This is Keiko’s family home so it is very traditional and that includes a shared bathroom and toilet, but it is set up in a very easy way. The stairs are very steep, which is completely normal in Japan but worth being aware of. Our room included a small kitchenette which was handy, but we paid for breakfast (1,500 yen each) which was a huge, multi-dish affair presented beautifully like in a fancy ryokan. The downstairs is where Keiko serves meals and also is the location of the Live Cafe. We heard a jazz quartet rehearse while we were there - it was a fun chance to hear local musicians. If you want a regular hotel and its amenities, there are some in Itiogawa. If you would like to experience real Japanese living and people, we could not recommend Live Cafe no Umi and Keiko’s hospitality more."

"La Neige is a great hotel, the staff is perfect, I want to come back, the premises are beautiful, so elegant, and at a good price, there’s no onsen, but no problem, there are options a few minutes away, and the hotel have an excellent transportation service. "Looking for Hakuba Accomodation? Highly recommend booking here! Great central location, close to Happo Village, Happo Ski resort and Hakuba 47 + Goryu Resort. Great value and price range for what you get staying at this lodge, when compared to other accomodation options. Taking the bus to near by resorts? Another reason to book here! Their is two bus stops near by that offer a free shuttle bus service to near by resorts, such as Goryu and Iwatake resort. The owner of the lodge is Amazing and will gladly assist you with bus options, recommendations for dinner, onsens, ski resorts, shopping, sight seeing and more! A great breakfast is provided every morning with coffee, convenient and the perfect way to start your day before heading up to the slopes. Our room was large, plenty of room for hanging clothes, our suitcases and more, with a great view and large bed. A large drying room is in the lodge near the front entrance, convenient for drying your gear at the end of the day. Many dinner options are within walking distance of the lodge. "

"The hotel is not the most convenient to Hakuba town, but it is quite and there is a shuttle to two ski resorts (limited to three times a day, each way). The breakfast is a great way to start the day and the onsen is a nice place to relax after a day of skiing. The rooms are vintage charm, but the staff are so very friendly."

"The property is nice, the onsen is a terrific feature and the staff were excellent and helpful with our many questions for inbound/outbound travel. However, for upwards of $400 per night, the dining options were rather basic and, given the hotel's somewhat remote location, the sporadic shuttle schedule and drop-off locations made the ski resorts somewhat of a challenge to reach."
