Special mention to the Chef Mr. Sunny Mehta who made sure we are served authentic cuisines especially for my senior aged parents. "Layout of the hotel was good for see if views as the hotel stretches out length ways, room was a little rough around the edges and just feel it could do with a refurb to get five stars however the view was wonderful - the hotel seems to have like a hotel split in two vibe due to the layout Staff were all very nice Tuna turner was very nice food and drink but a little over priced when comparing the restaurants across the tracks which were very good River safari is worth paying a visit All in all I would say 4.5 stars, if the rooms were a bit better it could get to a five"

"The architecture and gardens are a stand out feature of this hotel located on a quiet section of Bentota Beach ( separated by a railway line which you cross on foot!). Staff are efficient and courteous "

"Clean rooms, friendly staff and a beautiful setting made our stay very pleasant. The food was good but lacked the local influence - propbably because the hotel caters mostly to German tourists. Despite being on the beach we opted to spend time at other baches as the ocean water directly at the hotel was not clean."

"The bedsheets and mattress were wet and some moist smell was coming. One half of the bathroom sliding door was broken. The beds are very small for twin beds’ size. There was no proper process/queue for check-in. It was not managed properly and anyone was coming in between and was checking in. The hotel seems to be overcrowded. The beach was not accessible. There were stones and fisherman boats were there which made the water smell oily and bad. The only good thing in hotel was swimming pool and food. I tried calling reception to get my room upgraded or changed but the number call was transferred and disconnected eventually. Not sure how it is rated as 5 star. Overall we had a really bad experience, not at all worth the money we spent. "
