Clean rooms, friendly staff and a beautiful setting made our stay very pleasant. The food was good but lacked the local influence - propbably because the hotel caters mostly to German tourists. Despite being on the beach we opted to spend time at other baches as the ocean water directly at the hotel was not clean.

Highly recommended!! The location is great, my room was spacious and well equipped, the food is plentiful and delicious and all the staff are happy, friendly and totally adorable!! If you're staying over Christmas/New Year, the extra effort with decorations and evening schedules is really lovely - the best I've experienced. Thank you very much Lanka Princess, I had a brilliant stay. Without hesitation, I would stay here again :-) xxx

Not what we were hoping for...

We recently stayed at the Lanka Princess Hotel and found the staff lovely and attentive throughout our stay. However, the overall experience didn’t quite match what we expected from the description on Hotels.com. The hotel feels dated and functional rather than showcasing Sri Lanka's beauty and vibrancy. It wasn’t made clear at the time of booking that this is primarily an Ayurvedic retreat, which heavily influences the food, activities, and overall style of the hotel. The food selection was quite limited, and the toiletries provided were functional rather than luxurious: no conditioner or hair dryer in the room and the bed was too hard for my liking. You can ask for another pillow or two though. We also had a room next to a pump, it was unbelievably noisy at night! The evening entertainment was limited and there is no lively communal area to relax in, which made the atmosphere very quiet. The pool was amazing and so was the wildlife! The beach was heavily littered after the rain, and walking along it was difficult without being approached by locals, which is tricky on day 1 but after a while is fine. Although the service from staff was great, the experience didn’t feel truly “ALL inclusive.” Alcohol is not included in the "ALL inclusive" menu! Overall, this hotel may suit guests specifically seeking a peaceful Ayurvedic wellness retreat, but it may not be the best choice for those wanting a more traditional, vibrant Sri Lankan holiday experience.

I arrived at the Lanka Princess Hotel to find no one able to resolve my booking issue. I spent over 4–5 hours trying to contact both the hotel and Expedia live chat, which eventually froze with “Got it, let’s help with your request.” No solution was offered, and I was left stranded after a full day wasted. I had to move to The Palms Resort nearby and pay extra for an all-inclusive stay just to have accommodation that night. I’m requesting a full refund for the Lanka Princess booking and reimbursement for the additional cost I incurred. I can provide receipts and screenshots as evidence.

Das Hotel ist einmalig, Zimmer sind groß und sehr sauber, die Speisen hervorragend, das Personal freundlich. Alles in allem ein absolutes Highlight. Leider ist die Lage nicht wirklich toll. Es liegt an der Mündung des Bentotaflusses, welcher Berge von Müll heranspült. Baden im Meer nicht wirklich schön, auch wegen den gefährlichen Strömungen. Man badet also ausschließlich im Pool. Das ist sehr traurig!

Lanka experience

Our short stay at Lanka Princess was good but not worth the money we paid, service was goodbut front desk guy was very unhelpful and not really nice to us in both occasions we had chance to deal with him. We ordered some drinks and it didn't came right .Rooms are specious and clean so the bathroom but need bit of renovation. Lovely natural pond with plenty of life in it. German orientated hotel. Overall good quiet hotel with evening entertainment. Easy access to town by tok tok, lovely restaurants in walking distance.

Отель прекрасен для тех, кто хочет отдохнуть от суеты, расслабиться, полежать и ничего не делать. В новогодние праздники 2019 года было не очень много людей, практически пустые лежаки (они кстати персональные, закреплены за каждым номером, и находятся в тени пальм), свежие соки и очень вкусный травяной чай приносят прямо к лежакам. К еде нет нареканий: два отделения ресторана - местная кухня и европейская, постоянно работал гриль-бар, где еду готовили прямо на глазах; фрукты всегда в доступе. У отеля есть своя аюрведа, но мы не ходили. Номер обычный, достаточно просторный, тесно не было. Вид из всех номеров на внутренний двор с прудом, бассейном и рестораном, кроме тех, которые расположены с торцов отеля, у них частичный вид на океан. Персонал предельно вежлив и услужлив, сервис просто на высоте. Единственным минусом может быть то, что подавляющее большинство отдыхающих немцы, и все ориентировано на них, даже некоторые информационные листы есть только на немецком; однако весь персонал хорошо говорит на английском, проблем у нас не возникло. Территория отеля огорожена, ухоженная и очень зелёная, а к морю ведёт отдельная дорожка, у которой сидят охранники и не пропускают лишних на территорию отеля. Отель расположен рядом с устьем реки, поэтому для того, чтобы искупаться действительно в морской воде, приходилось проходить метров 200 по пляжу.

Hübsches Hotel, sehr freundliches Personal, Ayurveda Kur ..ausgezeichnet. Einzig die Entfernung vom Flughafen beträgt fast zwei Stunden.. aber sonst alles sehr gut. Würde wieder dorthin reisen. Echt zu empfehlen!

Tolle Küche, super Service. Sind Wiederholungstäter! Direkt am Hotel kommt der Fluss ins Meer, daher gibt es eine gefährliche Strömung und die Wasserqualität ist nicht die Beste. Der Hotelpool ist groß und schön, ansonsten kann man auch mit dem Boot zur Halbinsel übersetzen und hat dort einen schönen Strand und sauberes Wasser.
