Excellent location in the Plateau/Mile End area. We stayed in Room 1, which has two beds and a private washroom. Because it's on the third floor and at the back of the building, we didn't hear any noise from the street or club below. Be sure to have a cappuccino and croissant at Cafe Saint-Louis and a slice of pizza from Bar Star Bar, just a short walk away from Popolo.

This is a budget hotel, but an excellent budget hotel. It's old but full of charm, exceedingly clean. I'm doing Pysio for my back and needed to lay on the floor for my daily exersizes, I did so with trepidation, as I wasn't sure what I'd see under the bed, but surprise! Clean clean, a hotel that thoroughly cleans. Staff is great, and they even supply earplugs( there is a great little bar downstairs) but honestly I didn't need them, the air conditioner provides enough white noise. This is the second time we've stayed at Pension Popolo and we will stay again. Lovely area, great for just wandering around. Big love 😊

Great place to stay when visiting Montreal. Its right on Saint Laurent Boulevard and very close to the subway. It has easy access to some of the best food in the city. Shout out to La Petit Poisson. It was a very clean and well maintained property. Tammy the owner was very friendly and full of energy when we met her. Having AC was also a blessing as the heat and humidity while we were there was no joke. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Montreal and not wanting to pay an arm and a leg to stay downtown.

We had such a lovely stay here! The rooms were very nice, comfortable, and in such a convenient location. We were able to walk to plenty of coffee shops, corner stores, and everything else we needed, and despite being so centrally located, we didn’t find the rooms loud at all or hear much outside noise. The host was absolutely wonderful. We had such nice conversations with her throughout our stay, and when there was a mix-up with our booking, she didn’t hesitate to help us out. She even provided us with a partial refund that was more generous than we ever would have expected. She truly went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable, happy, and taken care of. We also really appreciated the little communal sitting area, which was perfect when we wanted somewhere to eat or just hang out outside of our room. Overall, this was such great value for the price, especially considering the location and hospitality. If I’m ever back in Montreal, I would 100% stay here again!

The room and bathrooms were clean and neat. It was quiet for our stay. We could hear music on the weekends in the evening but didn’t interrupt our sleep. Close to metro and many restaurant options. Tammy the manager was friendly and helpful.

I spend one night and Terry was wonderful even before going there she gave me a lot of information about Montreal. It isn’t expensive and it old with a lot of stares but you get a nice clean room with everything you need and bathroom with hot water and very important for me NO noise. If I return to Montreal I will go there for sure!

Tammy was very accommodating. She moved a bureau out of the room so we could have a place for our bikes. Parking is tricky but we found a free spot a short walk away. There are two steep flights of stairs to the room. The sitting area and tea were most welcome. It was a very comfortable place to stay.
