The gentlemen working behind the counter in the evenings were exceptionally welcoming and helpful, as were the doormen. The suite was exquisitely decorated, impeccably clean, and offered a truly breathtaking view of the water. The description of a deep soaker tub was indeed accurate; it was huge!!. The hotel's central location is ideal, providing easy walking access to Notre Dame Basilica, the Port, and the Metro. We did not receive much information regarding the amenities upon check-in, so I am unable to comment extensively on that aspect. Our robes were pleasantly soft, though slippers were not provided. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel; the atmosphere was wonderful, and we certainly plan to return..

The hotels online image is much different than what our family experience this past weekend. We wanted a last minute getaway and stayed in very nice hotels in Old Montreal so we were excited to book this one. The hotel presents like a gem, and from the outside looking in, appears fantastic. Although the staff were very friendly, personable and understanding, our impression changed as soon as we entered the hotel. From the outside, the building's historical significance and old-world architecture is stunning, and the lobby is very well appointed, complimented by the Japanese restaurant which was very busy with well dressed people. The lobby, specifically the elevator bank, is very poorly lit and way-finding, especially for a family or the elderly, is challenging. The elevators have one small incandescent light bulb in the form of a wall sconce, but reading the buttons is hard. It took me awhile to realize there was a contact that had to be activated using the room key, before you could select your floor number. When we exited the elevator, each floor is exceptionally dark, with zero overhead lighting apart from dark pink cove lights above each room's door.

Smooth calm check in, and client service was impeccable. We needed to use the pull out couch and the staff made it up for us and quickly brought extra towels when needed. Roo was beautifully appointed and spacious. We will certainly stay here again.
