The room had a bit of a weird scent that we noticed every time we came back to the room. It was almost musty. Maybe carpet cleaning related. Other than that the hotel and its amenities were pretty great. Lots of construction around the property, but nothing the hotel could do anything about. We had drink and dinner at the terrace de Nelligan and were underwhelmed with the food. The ambience was really great though.

Excellent hotel! Very charming! The staff were exceptional and we really enjoyed the Rooftop Terrace! Melissa from Mama C restaurant was fantastic and the breakfast was amazing! Very convenient location and the valet service was excellent for parking! We will definitely return to this hotel!

Hotel Nelligan was lovely - the staff were kind and attentive. When we checked in, I mentioned that it was my first time in Montreal. When my husband and I returned from sightseeing later, the complimentary bottle of sparkling wine that I received as an Expedia VIP Gold member was in our room on ice, and there was a lovely, long and personalized note thanking us for choosing the hotel for our first visit. The room itself was beautiful and stylish - we received a free upgrade to a junior suite that was very nice. Late that evening, about 15 minutes before room service closed, I called the restaurant for a dessert (noting that it was fine if it was too late). The hostess said she would make it happen, and ultimately brought the dessert to our room personally! The dessert and breakfast the next day were delicious. There is a lot of renovation occurring on the floor where we were staying, but noise was kept to reasonable hours and the worst we had was having to take a slightly different route to the elevator when we left (no big deal). The hotel is very well located and we went everywhere on foot. We will absolutely choose Hotel Nelligan on our next trip to Montreal.

Hotel staff was efficient, friendly and responsive, some of the best service I have ever had. Our suite was very nice but could use some maintenance, i.e. hot tub did not work. vanity light came on and off. Maintenance staff was prompt in responding but maybe overworked?

We celebrated our wedding anniversary and were greeted in a fabulous way. The service at hotel Nelligan was top, from the concierge and greeting at the desk to the valet parking. The hotel is beautifully located at the hearth of Montreal Old port.

Our experience at Hotel Nelligan was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. To our surprise and delight, we were upgraded to the penthouse suite, which was absolutely stunning spacious, beautifully designed, and complete with breathtaking views of Old Montreal. Every detail of our stay was perfect. The team went above and beyond at every turn — always friendly, helpful, and eager to ensure we had the best possible experience. Whether it was thoughtful touches in the room or top-notch recommendations around the city, we felt truly taken care of.
