「WARNING: only hotel in the world with a 16:00 check in. If you can’t be bothered to staff the hotel at least leave a key box like every other hotel. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to waste waiting for 16:00 so checked into the Beachfront hotel in town for the same price and standard check in. 」

「We loved our stay in the Blackhouse Cottage, and wished we could have stayed longer. It was gorgeously appointed and well set out. The beds were super comfortable and we were snug and warm in the cold. So cozy and the perfect place to unwind and relax. We would stay here again and again. 」

「Do expect an early receptionist with skin problems and unhelpful attitude to attend you when joy check in and check out. The accommodation itself is ok 」

「Very close to township (drive 3 mins) and glowworm dell. Facilities are new and friendly use. Park located in the middle of resort, safe for taking care of children. Remember to bring your own body wash and shampoo (not provided). Everything is good and definitely will stay again!」

「At the time of writing, this hotel has a 9.2 on Expedia. That is truly absurd. This hotel is old (they don’t call it “historic” for nothing) and run down (featuring peeling wallpaper, a saggy matress, threadbare carpet and a kitchen that looks like it was built in the 80s). Making things worse, there is literally not a single thing of interest in Kumara (it only exists because it is a stop on the West Coast Wilderness Trail).
