"My recent stay at Novotel Suites Yogyakarta Malioboro was truly one of the best hotel experiences I have had in Indonesia. From the moment I arrived until the day I checked out, everything exceeded my expectations. The hotel perfectly combines modern luxury, Javanese hospitality, comfort, and an unbeatable location right in the heart of Yogyakarta. The first impression matters, and this hotel did not disappoint. The check-in process was smooth, fast, and professional. The staff welcomed me with genuine smiles and warm Indonesian hospitality. They were polite, helpful, and always ready to assist with any questions. Every staff member I met — from the reception team to housekeeping and restaurant staff — showed excellent service standards. They made me feel valued and respected as a guest. If you need help with tours, transportation, or recommendations, they are very knowledgeable and supportive. "On the surface, this is a modern hotel with reasonable facilities. However, there are loads of pros and cons. The rooms are a little bit worn, staff don’t speak that much English and most of the clients are Indonesian. Breakfasts offer loads of choice: two rice options, one noodle, a veg stir-fry and a fish or chicken dish, plus several buburs (porridges), simple cakes and pastries, plus fresh fruit. But the coffee and tea are weak and lukewarm – barely drinkable; I ended up walking to the central Tugu station nearby to get coffee from the convenience store. Also, the building next door to the hotel is a church, and at weekends you'll have to put up with the band at evening service, not to mention a 6 am (!) band rehearsal on Sunday followed by more music. Overall I had an OK and very affordable stay, but it could have been much better if the management paid more attention to details."

"I booked 3 rooms in this hotel for me and my sisters…we asked all 3 rooms to be on the same level and it’s no problem at all for the hotel…we had nice time and all the staff are very friendly and polite. We had a ‘bit’ of confusion at the end of our stay but Ken, the duty manager on the day had explained the confusion and he handled the minor incident very professionally. Thank you, Ken…you are an asset for Jambuluwuk Hotel Malioboro for your outstanding hospitality! All our rooms are clean and always have all the amenities. Nice location as it’s near Malioboro! Highly recomended for all of you who wants to visit Yogyakarta with your family."

"The location is excellent. But the hotel is not really up to Canadian standards. Poor water pressure and no hot water, not very clean. Stay if you aren’t picky and just need a place to sleep for a night. The staff was friendly. They provided toothbrushes, slippers, and water. "
