"The apartment was in a very central location, only a few moments away from the main shopping mall in Funchal, and coffee shop almost on the doorstep. There was a kitchenette, washing machine and ironing board provided, and all useful utensils provided (even sachets of oil for using the frying pan). Check in was simple with the use of door codes. "We had an amazing time at Funchal Barcelo. The staff was extremely nice and treated us so well. We were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of champagne in our room one day - they had seen from our passport that we were celebrating a birthday. Complete shock and unexpected. Location was great! Close to the water, easy to walk the downtown streets and the rooftop pool was wonderful (although sometimes a bit crowded). We would recommend Madeira and especially this hotel to anyone who asks. I can't say enough great things about our experience! Looking forward to coming back, hopefully soon!"
