The hotel was a delightful experience in every way. We wanted to avoid being in the historical district of Funchal which is full of crowds, noise and the multiple cruiseliners. The hotel is an comfortable 20 min walk up an easy hill and is an oasis in the city: exquisite landscaping and gardens and sublime view. Hotel is spotlessly clean and staff is extremely friendly and welcoming.

A really nice hotel with superfriendly and helpful staff! Great location in a quite area with the citys bustling life within a short walk! A breakfast in the garden with a magnificent view over the village gave us a great start of the day!

Beautiful Property!

This hotel is beautiful! The property is well taken care of and has beautiful plants/flowers! The view of the city from the hotel is breathtaking. The staff is very nice and helpful. The only difficulty we had was figuring out how to initially get into the property since it is locked/gated.

Beautiful property located in a great area walking distance to many shops and restaurants. We booked the Premier Suite which was lovely and spacious with a beautiful balcony overlooking Funchal. The staff were wonderful and the breakfast each morning was delicious. The grounds of the hotel are also lovely. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff lovely and helpful. The only slight drawback is that it's rather far from any restaurants/shops/attractions - an arduous 30min walk up and down the hill. On the other hand, it meant it was quiet, and the views of the harbour fabulous

100% recommend

The staff were absolutely wonderful and the room was extremely clean, large, and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic and I will absolutely stay here again for my next trip to Funchal. Was able to walk to Old Town shops and the boardwalk within 10-12 minutes and could have used the bus stops if I had needed.
