Mediocre hotel.
When we arrived at our building the hall smelled like burnt fish. Gladly the room though it was tiny did not smell. The windows were loaded with spiders so looking out them wasn’t very pleasant.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Room was spacious and had what I needed. The fire pit and s’mores were a really nice addition after a day of activities. Super close to the downtown area of Mackinaw City. Nice breakfast offerings. I would stay here again.

The room was clean, the lock on the front door did not lock properly and we found that the door was open after cleaning all day. When we returned we found the door cracked open and the room was full of knatts. they came in and tried to vacuum up the ones that were in the bathroom. Bad part was that we were fighting knatts all night.

Don't believe the good reviews
We chose this place because it had really good reviews for cleanliness which is extremely important to us. We checked in the lady was really nice we told her we picked this place because of the reviews. Upon walking into our room it smelled like straight mold in the face, the entire place. It looks nothing like the photos at all. There's not even a smoke detector in the room. You can see that it's been taken off the wall. Overall, we really regret making this choice because he wouldn't have spent this much money for a" clean hotel" supposedly to stay here. The bed was extremely firm and not comfortable. The bathroom is so small. You have to basically step in the shower or around the toilet to even shut the door. Overall, keep looking and try to read the bad reviews because I feel like this place has been pumped up with a bunch of good reviews that are not true. Breakfast was disgusting. If we had to do it again we would never stay here ever. Stains all over the bed sheets and comforter. Our car would have been a cleaner choice.

wonderful fall getaway
Room was nice and clean, we enjoyed a bonfire on the beach and smores. The view of the bridge was nice and breakfast was plentiful. Staff was very kind and always smiling.

This was a last minute stay during an unseasonably warm Michigan week. This lovely inn (why it's called a motel is beyond me) is right on lake Huron with a view of the bridge. The lovely beach is part of their nightly bonfire/ s'mores get together. This place is very clean, rooms are bright and fresh and seems to be newly renovated. It was everything we hoped for and then some.

We were hoping to see the northern lights so choose this hotel as the rooms are on the lake and face north. View was great! Room was a bit small and the bed squeaked a lot. The breakfast room is tiny and was very crowded. Food had a bit to be desired.

Reviews said it was an 9.2. It was clean, but rooms are small. Breakfast was good, but room where it was served was so small that we could hardly move. Directions for where the room was and what number each building was were lacking. Closer to an 8.4

Five star stay
What an enjoyable motel. First impression the grounds were well maintained and quite beautiful. Cordelia in the office was delightful. She was so cheerful and helpful when we locked our keys in the room within the first 4 minutes. The room was spotless with a lovely view of the beach and bridge. Multiple campfires were lit at 7:30 and s’more kit’s passed out to the guests. Five star experience all the way.

In the context of a motel it was nice and it seemed much nicer than the other properties in the area. It has a nice beach which would be great if it had been warmer. We enjoyed the nightly bonfires and complimentary s’more’s! The staff was helpful.

Great location near bridge and on beach. Beautiful view of lake and bridge. Convenient to Mackinaw City eateries and activities. Great room for very reasonable cost, even with hot tub...which could use a grab bar for entering/exiting as people tend to use faucet for assistance and it is loose because of it. Sorry weather did not allow for evening fire pits and s'mores. Would have been a nice touch. Excellent front desk staff, Cordellia.

Nice view!
Beautiful view of the bridge and Mackinac island. Campfire on the beach with s’mores was a nice touch (too bad it was too cold and windy for me). I’d return if in the area again.

The front desk staff and the staff that sets the bon fires and hands out s’mores was super caring, accommodating, and always had a smile on their face.
