Old and needs an upgrade. Rooms need more thorough cleaning. I stayed there 2 nights a day apart and the same dirt etc was still in the bathrooms indicating a thorough clean was not completed. Noisy. Every movement by guests in and out of rooms can be heard in your room. Staff very pleasant though

Experience was really average ! Had extra pets coming into shower from cracks . Big fat long worms in shower everyday from cracks in shower. And water would go snap cold then piping hot unexpectedly during shower…. Probably will never stay there again.

I just had emergency surgery at the Mackay hospital was about to go to the motel when they called me and said I had to get back onto Expedia to get my refund back because they had double booked the room so I tried calling tried email could not get on to anyone at all I had to arrange a room else and to say I was pissed off is a understatement so someone better call me and sort out my refund.

Friendly staff. Very new and tidy. And quiet. A few things to remedy. Shower needs fixing. The slightest turn the wrong way goes from freezing to scalding (replace shower head). The beds are very hard (install a pillow top protector). A curfew of 8.00pm (not sure how you tell people they can’t go outside after a certain time). And finally, use a dish and you get billed $50 for cleaning (but where do you wash up? Bathroom sink?)

The room was renovated and very nice, A bit impractical to have the basin outside the bathroom and the small step up to the wet area is a tripping hazard. Although the room was very clean, there were tiny ants everywhere. I told the receptionist this and she didn't seem interested. The same receptionist charged me on arrival saying Expedia hadn't passed on payment for the room. This was refunded when I produced email evidence of payment. I think the receptionist is in the wrong line of work. She didn't smile once during our interactions. Not very welcoming and I wouldn't stay here again.

I’m not really sure how to review this property. We booked it last minute as a short stop over en route to Airlie so didn’t need it to be anything special. It’s pretty basic but priced well for what it is. The issue that put a dampener on the experience was I guess the service. On arriving at 8pm after a 5 hour drive (check in closes at 9) I was informed my room had been cancelled as the card payment hadn’t gone through, they recited the numbers of a card I wasn’t familiar with, but they advised they still had the room so I could pay now if I wanted to. I paid cash and checked in. On getting into my room, and attaching to the WiFi (as had no data on my phone previously) I saw I’d had a message from the motel an hour before through the 3rd party site I booked on to advise the room had been cancelled as they’d double booked. Which is obviously not the reason why they advised the room had been cancelled when I arrived. I’m just thankful I hadn’t seen that message en route as I would’ve been scrambling to find an alternative room at 8pm. Then to top it off, I checked my bank account to find they’d taken the payment out of my account the day before. The next morning they did issue me a refund on the cash payment when I queried it but obviously not the smoothest process.
