「My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful - we ate in the bar on the first night - tasty food and HUGE potion size. The room was large (twin beds) and both the room and bathroom were clean and well maintained - this is an old building which was part of its charm. The breakfast was continental - had everything we needed. We booked a second night which wasn't planned.」

「Firstly l would point out the staff were excellent and were very helpful. However the room was not great. It was cramped and you had to move the tv (or duck under it) just to get to the bathroom. The road noise was constant despite double glazing. Also had to ask the lovely staff to change the stained pillow cases. When leaving at 10am check out time the place was still locked up, curtains pulled and deserted.」

「We stayed at The Fleece for a couple of nights. Our welcome as a pleasant professional one, despite the bar and restaurant being busy. Our room and the linen was very clean, and although quite warm, there was a fan provided that did the trick. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was good, and the breakfast, which was included, was delicious. Lovely beer garden/ courtyard to enjoy a relaxing beer. 「We had a nice stay at The Pheasant. The staff were helpful, and breakfast was good with lots of choice. The pub is in a beautiful setting, about 5m drive from Kirkby Lonsdale. The room was a good size, and had a comfy bed, although was a bit run down, especially the bathroom, which had peeling plaster, damp and cracks. Toiletries were included and good quality.」

「Staff were very pleasant, friendly and exceptionally helpful. The decor in the room was beautiful and it was very clean with plenty of tea making facilities including ‘proper’ mugs and a teapot with tea cosy which was a lovely extra. However the room was very, very small and it did not have any drawers or wardrobe to store clothes (there was a small rail in the corner with four hangers to hang a few items). The en-suite was also very small but it was supplied with lovely White Company...
