This was a surprising great budget friendly place to stay in LA! It’s located in Koreatown, close to local restaurants, grocery store, dollar stores, & transit. The neighborhood felt safe, despite all the bars and gates.
The guest house itself was relatively clean and new. Loved the modern, minimalist decor, which contributed to that clean look.
booked a private room and it was great. Nice clean bed, simple furniture, Issues I had were small. It was very affordable.
I was worried about getting inside to check in, after reading the reviews. I understand they don’t want to give out the code, so there should be a doorbell or something to contact someone to get in, since travel plans can be unpredictable, like flights get delayed, transportation difficulties. There needs to be a way for guests to contact someone.
For improvements, please add a secure shower curtain rod (so it doesn’t fall off), hooks to hang your towel, hangers in the private rooms, a microwave in the lower level kitchen, post WiFi info in shared space, so no need to keep asking. These are inexpensive upgrades that makes staying here more pleasant.
There’s a stove, but not functioning in both kitchens, so you can’t cook. There’s no pots/pans/cutlery/dishes too, but there’s a fridge to keep your stuff.
definitely recommend this place as one of the better hostels/shared accommodation places in US!
