Where to stay in French West Indies

There are many beautiful places in Martinique. One of those we visited was Pointe du Bout. We took a ferry from Fort de France to get there. Located in South West coast of Martinique it has many restaurants and other shops and you can enjoy the beach. St Barts is a small territory of France located in the Leeward Islands at the northeastern corner of the Caribbean Sea. The Gustavia Lighthouse is located on a hill at the historic Fort Gustave overlooking Gustavia harbor on the west side of the island. The island has an identity crisis and can be called St.-Barthélemy, St. Barths, or St. Barts depending on who you are talking to and how fancy they are. It caters to a well-heeled clientele and the marina is jam packed with fabulous Yachts.

While visiting Public, you might make a stop by sights like Plage de Public and Fort Gustave.

This iguana guards the fort, overlooking Pointe-A-Pitre’s bay, with Basse Terre and its active volcano « Soufrière » in the distance. Guadeloupe is a wonderful French island slowly opening up to North American tourists in search of a more authentic Caribbean experience. Direct flights now from many US cities and from Montreal.
