「I stayed in one of the the two little cottages. Very cool and historic and at the same time clean and contemporary on the inside. Bed very comfortable. Owner / manager very helpful.」

「The owner was a nice old Greek fella who was very accommodating. I was at a course late and would not make it to the hotel before normal check in time so I called to make arrangements and he was very helpful. The next day I asked for a late check out and he said to take my time, no rush. Once I packed up I had a delicious breakfast at the restaurant. Great price point and an amazing view, exactly what I needed.」

「The friendly hosts and the elaborate, tasty breakfast were the highlights of our stay here. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower set-up on the clawfoot tub reminded us of our first home and were fine, but a grab bar to help getting out would be helpful. The gardens were pleasant. The outside of the building was a bit tired and worn looking; I'm sure upkeep on such a large, historic building is tough.」

「We’ve been staying @the HIS (this SJ location) about 6 times a year, for 2 + years. Our last visit was rather unpleasant, and quite frankly rather disappointing. The grout on the bathroom floor was coming-up between the floor tiles, a mess and first noticed, as I walked in the bathroom barefoot (ouch). This was easily noticed by cleaning staff, but never rectified. An inspection would have indicated an intervention was past-due The adjacent room decided to have a party! At 1:45 am, I called...

「Liked waterfront room with view. Parking garage attached to hotel for easy access and exiting. Enjoyed free breakfast. Repairs needed in bathroom. Flooring dirty in bathroom. Air conditioner was very noisy. The fan was so loud had difficulty sleeping.」

「Great location. Staff not onsite. Couldn't get the heat to work even after contacting the on call person. Bed was extremely high, my wife couldn't get up without help. The housekeeper was very helpful and lent a step stool.」
