This motel is operated by a couple that are a rare treat! I booked a room in the Mermaid Inn on very short notice, arrived late (after 11 PM) and I was greeted with kindness and understanding!
The rooms themselves are a bit unorthodox in their layout, but in a good way.
The beds were very comfortable, the decor was entertaining and contextually appropriate to the locale. The equipment such as the refrigerator, microwave, and even the brand new fans, were themed!
The property itself is located in a perfect location. It's just outside of the main traffic area and next to both food and a convenience station.
It's within walking distance from the Cranberry Museum and the hosts use plants for both aesthetics as well as functional reasons. For example, if the mosquito's flare up they have natural citronella plants which will provide a nice little shield within the complex.
The point is, this is a great little place to just sleep, or while away the morning with a cup of coffee in front of your room at your little personal bistro.
I strongly recommend The Mermaid Inn
