"We truly enjoyed our stay at El Beso at Ocean El Faro. There were plenty of amenities and activities for everyone. The staff was courteous and attentive, and even though we opted to be environmentally conscious and did not request daily bed changes, housekeeping still came in and kept the room consistently tidy. The idea of using bracelets to identify guest groups while also serving as room keys is such a neat and convenient concept. As someone who is very mindful of the environment, I was especially impressed that the air conditioning automatically turns off when the balcony door is open. I do have one small suggestion: consider making the pastries bite-sized. They all look so delicious that guests want to try several, but many end up half-eaten, which leads to unnecessary waste."

"It was a fantastic stay for our family. We spanned 3 generations - grandparent, parents, and adult children - and the staff made sure everyone was taken care of. The food was wonderful, even for our gluten free and vegetarian family members. My father-in-law loved the buffet and my children sampled all the choices. Dario at the breakfast buffet was super attentive, while at the beach, Luis, Bryan, and Miguel all made sure we had everything we needed and Myra made sure everything was spotless. "

"We have stayed in Excellence resorts twice before (Punta Cana and Playa Mujeres). When we checked in to the Excellence El Carmen, we did have a few somewhat minor, but annoying issues: 1) No hand soap in the bathroom (they use bath gel near the sinks, but we didn’t have that either). 2) The table in the living area still had drink rings on it from a previous guest. 3) There was no “Do Not Disturb” sign in our room. Also, the hot/cold knobs in the bathroom were reversed, so turning the “cold” knob turned on the hot water. No major issues, but it felt like a lack of attention to detail that was surprising for an Excellence resort. The resort grounds were amazing and immaculate. Definitely made the stay feel like we were at a true luxury resort Dining was a bit of an issue. We had a group of five and we found we generally had to wait between 30-60mins for a table for most lunches and dinners. We managed it by getting on the waitlist before we were hungry, but seems like an issue that could be managed by opening another restaurant or having more staff/tables in the existing restaurants. Room service was terrible. We called for two items and were told it would take 30mins, but it took around 1hr 15mins to get the food. The Guest Experience staff, specifically Dilson, was great in recognizing the issues and making some special arrangements for us to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. His efforts definitely helped improve our experience and how we felt about our stay. "
