This is my second time at K’s and nothing bad to say. If anything, it’s more some of the guests that are loud but otherwise the place is amazing! Walkable from the station (10min), with konbinis and affordable eating options around. Not too far from shopping area or some temples by foot (20 to 40 mins). You can even rent bikes for a good price. A fully equipped kitchen. Showers on every floors and they are clean. Laundry service with free dryers. Honestly, I’ll come again and recommend definitely!

Great as a solo traveller
This is the 2nd time I've stayed here as a solo traveller, and I will definitely be back next time I'm in Kyoto. The beds are very comfy and the bedrooms, bathrooms, and common area are very clean. The place has a really good vibe and in a convenient location for public transport and food.

I've been in Japan for 3 weeks now and this was, by far, the best place I've stayed in! I arrived a few hours before check in but was able to store my luggage. I'd like to say a personal big thank you to Michi who was very kind and suggested some places for me to visit around the area. The dorms and common spaces were all very nice (I recommend going up to the rooftop for sunset - you won't be disappointed). The staff were constantly cleaning which was nice to see. The beds were comfortable and the bag storage areas underneath were more than spacious enough. Will definitely be back here and visit other K's hostels around Japan!

Loved staying here! Large dinning area and kitchen so was easy to meet other travellers and eat meals together. Bike hire from venue was great. Staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Check-in and checkout was a breeze and facilities were great - will be on my list to return!

A good, safe, affordable, and convenient hostel
Great common room, a couple fridges and lots of shelves to store your own food and plenty of dishes and cookware provided. Free coffee and tea too. Breakfast is basic, I never bought preferring to get convenience store sushi for the same price down the street, but $3 is unlimited coffee and toast, $5 pancakes, sausage, cheese, and maybe some other things, and $6 is the same with unlimited drinks. Dorms weren’t bad, I stayed in an 8 bed mixed. I was the only female with all males but was never bothered or felt unsafe. I was given 2 sheets for the bed and used the loose one to make a curtain around my bunk for added privacy. Showers are nice and clean, though they never got hot just above lukewarm. Guests were always quiet at night (though I did have ear plugs in) and only once did I visit the common room at 6/7pm and it was loud and rowdy with groups of people. In the morning and later at night people would be relaxing. Convenient location close to bus stops and Kyoto station. Cafes, convenience stores, and restaurants (including the one downstairs) are nearby. I enjoyed my staying and the welcoming staff.

It could have been better.
The location was good, as it is very close to the train station. The little cafe at the hostel offers a good breakfast for a good price. The staff was friendly :) However, the dorm where I stayed had a very weird smell, I tried to open the windows during the day, hoping it will help with the smell but didn’t really work. The mattress was terrible. The shower room had some brown shower mats that gave a dirty feel to the shower room. You have to fix your own bed, fair enough.. but then they don’t provide you with a quilt cover, only a sheet. I found it unhygienic.

Great location near Kyoto station, near to subway line. Local craft beer nearby as well. Somewhat a hassle to take shoes off and store in locker upon entry, but fairly common practice. Common area was very nice and bathrooms good. Toilet rooms were tight but not an issue. Mixed dormitory was convenient.

Nice budget option in Kyoto
This is a nice budget option in Kyoto. You get what you pay for: room was very basic (and a bit smelly). Yet you can't bit the price. The location is handy for both Kyoto Station and the Keihan train line. Staff were nice and helpful, and overall vibe was young and cool. Plus they have an onsite caffe that offers very cheap breakfasts, drinks and snacks, as well as live music.

Room was clean, though a little smaller than the picture, but it is understandable, staff were all polite and friendly, being able to tore our luggage before and after check in/out is a huge plus! The neighbourhood is is quiet, take note when walking home in the late night. Make sure your GPS brings you along the main road, if not sometimes you got to walk underneath a dark underpass. There is a 7/11 close by, other than that, mostly are residential areas around. A 15 mins walk to Kyoto station which is the main station to many other places. If you have free time, please check out Shosei en just two streets northwest of it. It offers beautiful views during spring.

Stayed in a single double bed (full) room with shared bathroom. The stay was pleasant, and the hostel was in very clean shape. The hostel was close to 2 train stations, kyoto and (i forgot the name for the other one). So transportation is not an issue! It isn't really in the main area of Kyoto, but you can walk to the main train stations to get to other parts of Kyoto for experience. They allowed me to get into the room fairly earlier than the specified check-in time, which was a HUGE plus. Only knock is that you have to take off your shoes when entering the building and change into slippers. Room, shared bathrooms were all very clean. During the peak hours (before bed, morning time before check out) can be very crowded, and have to wait to use the showers. Other than that, it was a nice stay. Recommend!

Best bang for your buck hostel in Kyoto!
I have nothing but praises for this hostel. The staff is friendly and understands/speaks English so you wont have issues with communication. They would also gladly help you if you have any questions. The whole hostel is kept clean (especially the restroom!). It's nice to lounge around after a day's tour. The bar beside the hostel is also a great place to unwind when you are in the mood for drinks. Lastly, the location is the best. It's a 10-15 minute walk from Kyoto station. It's near a bunch of bus stops and is only a bus stop away from Gion and Nishiki Market.

The hostel staff were great, friendly, and helpful. Good location, 10-15 mins from Kyoto station. Facilities were very good, with a bar / restaurant attached as well as the usual hostel facilities. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
