The room was clean and the beds were okay. The blackout shade on the window was very, very difficult to lower. The in-room coffee packages had not been restocked and there were no vending machines on the premises. So we had to make a trip to the 7-Eleven to get drinks.

Large and clean room. What a treat to have enough room to move around in!! The staff was pleasant and helpful. It’s dog friendly, another plus, and the large open grounds meant she had room to stretch her legs!!

Location to HITS is nice. Other than that, it is being used to house the overflow of the homeless community which was challenging and should have been disclosed.

READ REVIEWS on CHOICE HOTELS sight! DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! Literally a drug hangout and place where homeless people live full time. The entire place smells like mold and weed and someone banged on my door within 30 minutes of checking in. I left immediately as I did not feel safe. The person at the desk refused to answer the phone or refund my money so I reported the entire situation to Choice Corp. The most UNSAFE and WORST hotel and to make it all worse, Expedia did not help when I reported the situation and refused to accurately list this hotel as full time homeless housing.

There was a large number of residents who appear to live there - possibly using housing vouchers. The residents with their children spend most of the day in front of the hotel in the parking lot and surrounding areas. They are loud and swear. The police came at 3am to investigate something. I heard from others that this wasn't a unique occurrence. We will NOT stay there again.

The owners of the property rent rooms to what appears is a homeless shelter. The first night we arrived, there were four police cars in front and more officers taking info from one of the homeless guests that had been beaten. The breakfast was descent, but I will likely stay elsewhere the next trip to Saugerties.
