"From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a joy to stay there. Substantive breakfasts, pet friendly, old manor house setting with great views. Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north."

"Had a light large room with en suite, if you want fancy then this is not for you, the couple running it are very easy to talk to and very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was good, right in the centre of town. "

Castle Green Hotel In Kendal, BW Premier Collection
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel was clean, comfortable and well maintained. All of the staff were really helpful, cheerful and friendly. The burger from the bar meal selection was awesome, ranking as one of the best I’ve had, the chips were amazing too.
My room was clean, spacious and comfortable, the water pressure in the shower was great, and appreciated.
The only very small gripe, is the £10 day parking charge, if you don’t book direct.
The hotel is cashless, and when paying, there isn’t an allowance on the bill to add a gratuity, which made tipping difficult.
Overall, I am happy to provide a 5 star review."
The Lakeland Kendal Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by BW
10/10 Excellent
"Great hotel opposite the train station and within easy walking distance to the town centre. The room had everything you needed, a comfy bed and a lovely bath to relax in. The breakfast was varied and the hot food was individually cooked for you. The staff were really friendly and helpful."
"Lovely location and clean room . Staff friendly if your late or around 5pm just go straight to the bar to get key . Only complaint was to no mirror in room and the guy who checked us in didn’t know if we had breakfast but that’s no major issue . I’ve heard food is great but also Kendal is really close ."
"Had a lovely 2 night stay. Ideal location - out of the way of crowds but close enough to get to places. Room was clean and comfortable. Food was also really good. Everyone was so friendly and helpful - will defo stay again."
"Very easy to find with a large car park at the back. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The selection of drinks was great with it having its own distillery. The food was beautiful and freshly prepared. The room was just as you would expect and the bed was so comfortable! The set up overall was perfect. Would go back next time we’re there. There are also busses that run outside so no need to use your car."
"From arrival to leaving nothing was too much trouble. I was on my own and the staff were more than helpful as to where to visit . The food was varied and excellent. Breakfast was basic continental but didn’t want any more. I make what I consider sensible comments not criticism and mentioned these to them.
1 possibly a small fridge in the room in view of current conditions but found out I was lucky and had a larger room so this wasn’t feasible throughout. I tray in shower to hold bits would be helpful. I mentioned. Non slip shower mat but was informed that they were available but no one asked. All in all an excellent 3 nights and I would go again. After I lose weight from the food!"
