Quiet, so peaceful. The staff is helpful and nice. The room is a little bit old but serves the purpose. Beds are surprisingly comfy , water pressure is good. Kauai Inn serves continental breakfast, but I wish they have boiled eggs. Overall our stay was pretty nice.

One night stay at this place for our backpacking trip. Love the location and cleanliness. Didn’t have much daylight left by the time we settle down for the night. Took a little stroll to take a glimpse of what’s left of the sunset. It sure was beautiful.

All great - EXCEPT - after 10 hours of traveling, To Ha, the woman behind the front desk, kept us waiting half an hour to check in - when there were zero people on line or in front of her. While we were directed by the bellman to take a seat, she was on the phone, typing on her computer, and smiling and talking to any guest that came by with a question. When she finally got to us, she made us go through another 30 minutes of intake, including a sales pitch for an upsell. We travel a lot, and we have never experienced anything like this before. Certainly the last thing you'd expect in a pricey luxury resort. There was no attempt to make it up to us, with the room upgrade we'd been expecting, since we travel so often and Expedia puts us in the VIP category, or even perhaps a round of drinks by the pool, or something to take the sting out of this awful check-in experience. The capper was when we checked out, we asked for a 1-hour late checkout, and she couldn't even muster that. Other than her, all of staff were WONDERFUL. It's a lovely place.

Hotel is going through a remodel, was a bit of a maze to get to and from our room. Amenities are nice, food on property was not, asked why no one was getting in the ocean from the property and was told the water conditions here are not suitable to swim. Have stayed at Outrigger in Oahu and it was much nicer, would not stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Makai Club Resort and would highly recommend it. The place was very clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. There was plenty of space for everyone, and everything we needed for a relaxed stay was thoughtfully provided. We especially appreciated the attention to detail — from beach equipment to small touches that made the stay feel easy and stress-free. It really felt like a home away from home. The only small downside — the local Hawaiian roosters 😄 They start their “alarm clock” around 5 a.m., so don’t expect to sleep in too late. But honestly, it feels more like part of the island charm than a real issue. The location was also great, peaceful yet convenient for getting around and exploring the area. Overall, a fantastic experience. We would definitely stay here again!
