The hotel had 1 elevator for 12 floors and the stairs were only for emergencies. This caused lines for the elevator going up and down. "The lodge was absolutely wonderful. We honestly had not slept as well as we did at the lodge anywhere else in Japan. Not sure if it was the mountain air, the onsen, or the large rooms that allowed us to settle in and spread out. The hospitality was incredible; the hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home, including by providing a bountiful breakfast each morning. My husband and I wish we could have stayed there our entire trip!"

"the service was incredible. The staff went above and beyond to try and accommodate English speakers. A very small Japanese continental breakfast was included for free which was nice. The onsen was very relaxing. Dinner at the Chinese restaurant was delicious. The room was a bit dated and beds were pretty hard which is typical for Japan."
