Daiwa Roynet Hotel Fukuyama Ekimae

10/10 Excellent
"While I like this hotel for the cheap price and its location, I noticed the receptionist when I checked in encouraged me to use the machine in front of their desk. What an irony! They are training customers to use systems to replace themselves. The nice thing about this hotel is the flexibility if I want to extend my stay for a couple of hours. You can just pay $10 for every hour you want to extend. The facility is fairly new and it is only 100 meters from the bullet train station."

Kotohira Onsen Onyado Shikishimakan

Kotohira Onsen Onyado Shikishimakan

10/10 Excellent
"The stay was generally quite nice. One small issue we had was that there were many kids staying in the room next to us and they were making a lot of noise late at night around 10:30. Otherwise the hotel offers many nice services. The onsen have several options including open-air, laying baths, and a larger indoor bath. Additionally they have an interesting waterfall shower where the water falls in a stream on your head. They also have 4 private baths that can be quite busy as they are on a first come first serve basis. There is free laundry that also had a short wait. They offer a few complimentary food items as well. I tried the late night ramen which I found tasty. We booked a room with a private open-air bath attached because my wife has tattoos which are not allowed to be shown in the public baths. This let us bathe right out a door from our accommodation which was quite convenient and enjoyable."
