"My son and I really enjoyed our stay at Ryokan Yamazaki, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful from checking us in, to making sure we ate and helping to order us cabs. We loved staying at a traditional style Japanese home, and the location was up in the north west area of Kyoto away from the crowds and tourists which we appreciated, and the beauty of the mountains and neighborhoods. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a traditional Japanese stay."

There is a large supermarket very close. The hotel is close to the Nijo castle and Imperial palace and an easy walk to bus stops and metro station with direct access to Kyoto station. My room was quiet but the hotel is situated on a busy noisy road."
