"Staff was friendly "

"Sheets were damp when we got there. Smelled a little musty. The walls were noticably patched and painted with a different sheen. This is in an oceanfront room. Otherwise the rooms were nice. The property feels like it's getting a little long in the tooth. Wish there were some better shops and restaurants. "

"The resort was good. Great location. Maui Brewery onsite was awesome. Beach walk, Black Rock and access to the beach made this an ideal stay."

"10/10 hotel honestly. The last 2 times in Maui we stayed next door at the Westin for double the price. The Whaler is clean and has kitchens in the unit so you save a ton of money on breakfast, coffee, and snacks by having it in your room. Staff was friendly, grounds were clean, and parking was free. It's $50 per day at the Westin. We'll definitely be back. "

"I have stayed here twice and have enjoyed both visits. You cannot beat the proximity to the water and the staff is always pleasant. Additionally, we really love having two bathrooms when traveling with large groups. Pros- proximity to beach, onsite ability to rent beach chairs and snorkeling gear, the hot tub, proximity to food/doctor/grocery store, and larger air conditioned rooms for families. Cons- daily parking fee, but this is common at a lot of places. Adding pictures of the view from our room and the sunset we watched from the steps to the beach- which was mere feet from our room. "

"Difficult to get a pool chair even though there is a sign that says unoccupied pool chairs will be forfeited. We saw many chairs with pool towels to which no one returned to but no staff came around to remove the towels. "

"Rooms need updating but were clean. Resort fees were exorbitant, especially considering that beach chairs were only available for rent. Not sure what “resort fees” covered other than just being another money grab."

"Great hotel and perfect location"

"This was my 2nd visit to the island and our experience at Kaanapali Alii was so great, we couldn't wait to return. Checkin was easy, our condo was very clean and housekeeping was wonderful. We didn't encounter any unfriendly staff. I was grateful the concierge was the same and she was just as wonderful helping us book excursions as our first visit. The upper deck sauna was out of order the entire week which was disappointing but not a deal breaker. My only suggestion is to make the upper sauna a quiet zone so adults can enjoy it in peace when it is fixed. Thank you so much for an amazing and relaxing vacation. "
