The suite was perfect for us and overlooked the beach with a very short walk to pool. We could watch the Luau from our balcony. The bathroom was very large and laid out perfectly for sharing - every hotel should follow this.
The ONLY complaint I had was the beach in the morning was “dirty” with beach towels from day before that should have been picked up at the end of the day.
Excellent location and short walk to Whalers Village. Highly recommend the hotel.
Location, Location, Location!!! Great accessibility & walkable to nightlife & restaurants. LOVE this resort! Staff is available to golf cart you to the Whalers Village. Very well kept!
Resort hotel overall was good. The food choices kinda basic for lunch / dinner same menu (mai tai, Cliff dive) boring . The tepan dinner was good but expensive. Breakfast at Upena was ridiculous, basic buffet for $47 per person.
Good thing the Whalers village (shops, restaurant options) close enough to walk on street on nice beach walk. That was good.
The hotel staff was very friendly. It is the prime location to access the beach with great snorkeling. We seen many tropical fish and a family of 6 stingrays swimming by us. The rooms are a little dated and the carpet had some stains but nothing major. I am picky when it comes to hotel cleanliness and I felt comfortable there. The pool was awesome, it has a lazy river and a hidden jacuzzi which was great because it was over capacity and could enjoy it without feeling too crowded.
Great stay for the price, clean, large property, large rooms with ocean view balcony's, lots of availability to get a seat at the pool, convenient location in Maui, walkable to Whaler's Village restaurants, and the largest amount of beachfront which became important when a hurricane removed sand and sidewalks from nearby hotels beachfront access. If you plan to chill at the resort this is a good value. Great service at bars and restaurants. Driving to Southern sites like road to Hana, Gold Pineapple Plantation, Ocean Vodka, Maui Winery, and Wilea are a bit far but worth staying in this less pricy high value location.
Beautiful well maintained property on the best part of Kanapali beach. Very nice pool and beach. Very friendly staff. Would highly recommend an ocean front room. It is worth the extra money. Very close to Whalers Village with shops and some great dining options. There is a free shuttle from the hotel. Car rental available at the hotel. Dining options are good but pricy. Try other options for breakfast as it was good but not worth $100.00 for 2. Would recommend this hotel while in Maui
We stayed in one of the suites on the 8th floor over black rock. The rooms are clean and have a great view. You can tell the hotel is aging from random sewer smells and electronics not always functioning well but you’re in Hawaii so it doesn’t affect you much. They did change the breakfast buffet to be inside now that they added a nighttime Italian restaurant. The staff was lovely. As of October 2026, the walk to Whaler’s village is obstructed as the sidewalk fell apart. You must walk on the beach for about 50 feet to bypass it.
Had a great stay at the Sheraton! Staff was extremely helpful and friendly…even gave us a room upgrade at check in and an anniversary gift sent to our room. Property location was excellent and condition was top notch. Sheraton made this an amazing vacation!

Property itself was beautiful. Views were great. Rooms need major upgrades. Had to move rooms because AC wasn’t working in first room. Had to call maintenance in second room AC stopped working. Prices for meals are OUTRAGEOUS. $100 for breakfast buffet for 2 adults.
rooms are nice somewhat dated but clean and spacious. pools are nice, big and many. a little lazy river too. reserve your cabana in advance there are 3 bars on property all good.
Clean, beautiful. Friendly staff. Two pools and beach access. Cliff jumping and snorkeling. Luau on site. Convenient to beach walk, shopping and restaurants. One thing I’d change is more chairs around pool.
The property is so well planned and landscaped beautifully. The lobby is very inviting and a perfect place to see stunning sunsets while lounging in comfortable chairs. Everyone was so cheerful, helpful and added to the magical ambience of the environment both physically and emotionally. The Sheraton is a place that depicts that Mauii feel. Thank you for giving our family a vacation we will always remember.
