Lake Katharine State Nature Preserve has six miles of hiking trails through its varied terrain, towering sandstone cliffs, big leaf magnolias, eastern hemlock, sweet gum, birch, beech, mountain laurel, Virginia pine and oak. The preserve has many native orchids, a diverse spring flora as well as its namesake lake.

Giving Jackson a better rating than the hotel. Was just passing through and didn’t get to see much of the city. However, I did have an awesome dinner at a roadhouse near the hotel. Great food, service, charming decor.
