Located in Horw but well connected with trains to downtown Lucerne. Check in was cumbersome as it was all ‘personless’. I did not see a hotel employee in the 3 days we stayed and that felt impersonal and vague. One must have a good data plan and lots of phone battery life at all times otherwise you cannot enter the building. There is no one you can call if you are stranded out. The electronic key did not work all the time. While in the building, wifi was adequate. Parking is paid (CHF 7 per 24 h). Though coin operated, Washer/dryer facility was an advantage. Communication was via WhatsApp texting only.
Rooms were comfortable and cooking/tea/coffee making equipment served our needs.
Noisy at night as walls are not sound proof and street noise was disturbing until at least 1 am.
Ask for Lucerne travel pass that will allow unlimited train travel in zone 10 that was enough for us.
Overall, a decent stay.
