"The staff make you feel so welcome when you arrive and throughout your stay. Nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is delicious with several options for hot food and a buffet of cold food. Lovely views from the dining room too. We missed the free afternoon homemade cake the first day so they made my husband gluten free flapjacks and put them on our breakfast table the next day. They were fully aware of coeliac disease. It is a pleasant walk into Keswick although a few hills. There is free parking at the hotel. I would have no hesitation in booking the hotel again, although next time I would book a larger room. We stayed in room 2, which had a bath and a hand held shower attachment, which may not be suitable for people with mobility issues."

The staff were absolutely fab — so friendly and welcoming — and the food was fantastic. Everything about the hotel made it feel relaxed and homely, and we really enjoyed our stay. I’d definitely recommend The Royal Oak to anyone looking for a lovely Lake District break. We’ll absolutely be back! ❤️"

It was a shame that one of the curtains had broken hooks as it drew the eye but the view from our windows more than made up for it. The evening meals were delicious.
