"It was nice staying there. Apartment was spacious, modern and well equiped. Manager Bruce and reception staff was very nice. House keeping was not good though. They didn’t clean room daily or when they did not properly. Overall it was a good experience."

"It was such a nice place to stay in. Although a little west of the old quarter, the location was overall good as it was still close to other tourist attractions and it was nestled in a nice spot where you couldn't hear motorbikes from the room. I really liked the feel of the room. It was clean and easy to keep cool and the beds was very comfortable. The owner was also very helpful and unobtrusive."

"Royal Palace hotel was our best stay in Vietnam. For $55 a night in the Old Quarter we got a beautiful room (701) and the best service possible. Every time we left the hotel we got a farewell by name and every time we came in they asked us how our time was, which was very appreciated. They didn't push us with tours but when we asked they were so helpful and got us some great trips to Sapa and Halong Bay that we'll never forget. They also charged us the standard price so they weren't tacking on extra commission. They went out of their way to help us at all times. They called us a taxi when we needed it, came with us to the train station so we didn't get too confused and recommended shops and restaurants that were all excellent. "

"My partner and I had an wonderful experience at May De Ville Lakeside hotel. Its service was exceptional, particularly by Hannah. The rooms are spacious, the bed was so comfortable, and the room service menu was tasty and priced reasonably. The hotel's location is also convenient, central to all the attractions around the Old Quarter and close walk to the Ho Hoan Kiem lake as well as steps away to the weekend market. We throughly enjoyed our stay at May De Ville Hotel in Hanoi and we highly recommend!"

"The location is good, the room is comfortable, and the breakfast is delicious. Above all, the staff were very kind. When the pick-up for the Halong Bay tour I had booked from Japan didn't come, I was waiting aimlessly, and they called the tour company to inquire. While I was waiting, they offered me tea and snacks, and suggested that I wait in the room. I am very grateful for their kind consideration."

"My fiancee and I stayed here during our week long trip to Hanoi. Besides the great location in old quarters, the good food and service, the staff is truly amazing. They especially went above and beyond on our last day when my fiancee got food poisoning the day of our flight. They extended our check out late into the evening so she could get as much rest as possible before the flight. They prepared hot tea and even got the kitchen to cook up some plain congee during off hours once she started recovering a bit. All of this was a no additional cost to us. Just on the great hospitality alone I would highly recommend Grand Hotel du Lac to anyone planning on visiting Hanoi. "

"It’s a beautiful hotel within walking distance to Hoàn Kiếm Lake. Lots of food, shopping and travel agencies right outside of the hotel where one can go to book trips, excursions and exchange money. The hotel also has a beautiful rooftop bar and pool. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. It made our stay pleasurable. Our rooms were very clean and we were up on the 8th floor away from the noise. The rooms were lovely, however, I’d suggest that the hotel improve the lighting in the bathroom and provide lighter bed covers. The current thick down comforter is too warm and not comfortable for sleeping. "

"I read amazing reviews about this hotel before I came and honestly it was all true. We made a quick pit stop in Hanoi for our honeymoon and the staff was extremely accommodating and kind. "Right in the old quarter of Hanoi, this beautiful and charming hotel is a true gem. Location is perfect for walking around and immersing yourself into Hanoi culture, food , and handmade goods . The staff ...I honestly cannot express our gratitude nor how ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE AND AMAZING they are in words alone . From the BEAUTIFUL girls at front desk to the doorman , unbelievable . A very special thank you to Tamila , she took us in and made everything better than perfect !! Even went so far as to pack us a breakfast /lunch as we left for our flight left before breakfast was served . With staff as truly OUTSTANDING as they are, this place will be the ONLY Hotel I will stay in when in Hanoi . Truly remarkable Thank you so much to you all ❤️🌹"
