「Beautiful hotel rooms are well kept and in excellent condition. The food in the bowes incline is the best around I could have stayed at a relatives house but wanted to eat and have a drink here - delicious!」

「The place was very popular with locals so parking was a bit awkward, we arrived after 6pm and there wasn’t much room to park. Maybe one criticism would be there isn’t reserve parking for staying guests and after travelling 140 odd miles and to be faced with hunting a parking space was as I said a little awkward. But that shouldn’t take away from what was a nice place to visit great food and a generous breakfast, clean room comfy bed.」

「Comfy room, generous towels. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service. There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. 「The place isn't clean,the doors aren't functional,the service,no access to clean water,had to use water from toilet,which are not very clean,the Lady is very old,fogetful,spent standing in the cold cos she didn't me the access code,terrible place.」

「The team at the Royal Oak were fantastic from check in to check out. Freshly cooked tasty breakfast every morning and would definitely reccommend the sunday roast which was delicious. The team were very friendly and helpful throughout. The location was absolutely perfect!」
