"Cottage was ok but after booking through hotels.com I was contacted by Host & Stay and advised I had to pay an additional fee for a damage waiver. Alternatively I could pay a deposit but they take an admin fee so you don’t get the full amount back plus they state they may take 14 days to refund."

"I wonder if Hotels.com checks these accommodations before advertising them Unsafe :as telephone cable had been pulled out of socket and left hanging in a plastic bag. Unsafe; no Smoke or Carbon Monoxide alarms anywhere in the property Unclean: molds growing around the bath and shower door Unclean: skirting boards full of long settled dust Unsuitable: no hanging place anywhere No wardrobe ,Rail or hooks clothes had to be hung on unclean door tops. No towel rail so towel had to be hung on...
