"During our stay there was a wedding party and the hotel was fully booked. There appeared to be staff shortages/new staff! This meant things took a little longer or needed a bit of extra staff training/help. Unfortunately there was also a wine shortage after several very busy events over the last 2 weeks! However we are patient people and ALL available staff were hardworking and friendly. Special mention to Ceran, Reese, Kyle, and sorry forgot name of the welding apprentice in the bar team. They went above and beyond. We had a room upgrade which was very gratefully received and a beautiful card for our Anniversary-thank you Molly! The pool and spa were great and especially loved the outdoor hot tub. It’s a great hotel, all the breakfast and evening meals were delicious. We would return if in the area."

"I have stayed here a few times now and we love this hotel. It is a bit tired in the rooms but nothing to spoil your stay. I did find the staff were not a good as they have been. Reception never answer the phone, you have to go down to them. Breakfast is not good. poor selection and poor service. They had no bread left out, no ketchup left. They had 6 empty bottles out for customers to use, everyone was empty. When asked for more, it never came. I ordered from the menu and paid extra. Arrived cold and egg not cooked correctly. I didn't bother the next day. All in all I do love the hotel and grounds. I am assuming they are working with reduced staff because of the cost. I would stay again, just mot bother eating there."

"Convenient location for exploring Suffolk. Parking right next to our comfortable chalet-style room. Staff friendly and welcoming. Bar closes at 10.30 which was a bit late for us as we were returning late, but staff helpfully offered to leave a drink in our room if we called prior to our return. Breakfast was lovely and was served until a leisurely 11am, which was a treat."

"I had a wonderful stay at The Annesley. The parking was easy, safe & reasonably priced - you can walk into Norwich city centre in under 10 minutes, its very straightforward. Perfect location and they kindly gave me a room towards the back, which I found quiet. The room was clean, tidy & well equipped for a small room (which I’d requested/paid for) - it was so much better than I’d expected it to be. A lovely sitting room on the ground floor for reading or socialising & it was also nice to have a drink in the garden (good weather). The bar was easily accessible & the 3 staff members I encountered during my stay were all friendly. I didn’t eat there so I can’t comment on the food, but from what I did see it looked lovely! Would highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Norwich, especially if you’re wanting to explore the castle, cathedral or city centre."

"Staff were very friendly and helpful, check in was easy at the bar. Room wasn't too hot; it had a good fan which was very useful. Food was very good and service was quick and friendly. Only improvement for me would be better ciders, Adders and Aspell don't cut it. Devon or somerset ciders are so much better."
