10/10, would def stay again !

Only stayed one night but i was pleasantly surprised of my stay at such a low price. Bed was super comfortable, water pressure in the shower was fantastic!! I didnt get the chance to try breakfast or anything like that, but they have a really nice breakfast area, and even a little lounge up front. When I first got there, the guy at the front was very personable and conversational, very very nice. I was pleased with my stay here, and will keep it bookmarked for next time. ❤️

It could use a good cleaning inside & out. First room was dirty & moldy. Mgr did get us another room. (4th one we viewed that wasn’t dirty & moldy.) We discovered AC wasn’t cooling when we got back from dinner. It was late so my hubby took cover off AC filthy so he cleaned the best he could & it cooled room off nicely. I wasn’t expecting a 5 star room just a clean one. We stayed here last Oct & Nov & it was a nice clean little hotel. It has really gone downhill since then. Which is sad. Hope they put a little elbow grease into it.

Handicapped accessibility

Requested a handicapped accessible room via the website. That information did not get transmitted to the Microtel. However, the facility was able to put us in a handicapped room.

Strawberry Festival 2024

For a VERY inexpensive, short stay, this hotel works. The towels are bare thread, with holes; the carpets are in dire need of cleaning, even just a good vacuum; the family that runs the hotel obviously live there and cook very odiferous foods; the front doors are not ADA compliant (don't know how they get around that little law). The "free" breakfast consists of cereal, orange juice and coffee. No refrigerator or microwave in room; there is a community microwave in the lobby. In Louisiana, you need ice, the ice machines were inoperable. The location is close to fast food dining and walkable to downtown Ponchatoula (only good points)

The toilet would take forever to flush. The shower head shot water out so forcefully it almost hurt. The hotel shows to have laundry on site, but it was out of service. We were there for a baseball tournament so laundry on site was much needed. Breakfast was limited and horrible. Toast, bland cereal, and oatmeal is all that was offered. The exit/enter doors were not locked and did not need hotel key for access. There were people that appeared to be living outside the hotel and had access to the hallways at all times. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. We will definitely not be returning. The one time I dealt with staff, at check in, was pleasant and she was nice.

Didn’t want to give me the room I reserved, took his time checking us in. Took about an hour to get checked in, would only give us one room key. Ice machine was broken, room wasn’t clean, wouldn’t give extra towels and wash clothes, sheets was stained.

It’s an older hotel so everything is old. They need new towels. The bedding is even old and didn’t match. Mold was under the Bay Area seating by the air conditioner. It’s definitely not a 4 star hotel.
