「Great landlord - welcoming and super friendly. Superb range of real ales and an awesome full English breakfast. Room was comfortable, fairly spacious (we had the triple) and clean. Broom was a little compact and basic. Overall a good friendly pub with basic but good facilities. 」

「This was a cheap room I’d booked, however I still expected to have heating available in the room and the separate bathroom. This made it extremely difficult to get to sleep as it was a very cold night, even with the tiny extra blanket. 「The bar staff at check-in were friendly. The rooms are upstairs in old characterful Essex pub in a pretty village. There are only four parking spaces which were taken so we parked behind the local co-op a short walk away. The room itself was small but clean and well equipped. However, the biggest issue is the lack of ventilation in the room which was hot and airless without the radiator being on. The room was pretty, the bed super comfortable, the temperature lovely and cosy, the bathroom toiletries and bed linens all super high quality. Wi-Fi was strong and meant I could work. 「First time staying and we were impressed. Rooms are spacious and clean. Having a bath in our family room would have been better for our younger children. The receptionist was very helpful, welcoming and friendly! The restaurant food was good. The breakfast was brilliant, lots of choice. Great for both adults and children. I would definitely recommend and would stay again. 」
