The apartments are a good size. The rooms are clean and there is plenty of bedding. The kitchen is clean and stocked with cooking supplies. There is a washing machine in the room which is nice. The location is very convenient for taking public transit and visiting the local attractions.

Difficult to get there!
it is a bit hard to get there. We had to drag our luggage on a steep slope to get there, very tiring indeed! The plus side is that it is close to open air museum which we really enjoyed touring. Small suite, but clean. Cannot say too comfortable with the futon, but OK.

Tough to pull luggage uphill and steep steps along the way. No lift, had to lug luggage up three storeys to room. Get some relief to change room to second levels. The same issue of lugging luggage on check out. Very inconvenient and strenuous

Hotel no available staff to help to carry luggages on terrible conditions: up hill, down hill, up stairs, down stairs. Hotel cafe closed at 5.30pm and all restaurants nearby also closes at 5.30pm. We end up walking more than 1 km while raining to get instant noodles / etc from Lawson convenient stall. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

It quiet far from Gora station, actually not much far but you have to walk up to hill, more difficult with heavy luggage but the hotel is very good.

The restaurant was expensive and not value for money. The food was also not good. It was great that kimonos were provided.

Our family enjoyed our 2 nights stay at the property. It was clean, well equipped, friendly staff. We read previous comments about lack of kitchen equipments and cutlery. However, our apartment had everything provided, we were able to heat up some food. We also found the apartment quite roomy and comfortable. I hope the communication could have been better for the actual check-in/out location that need to climb some steps to get to. However, once we are familiar to get around the place, it is very convenient. After all, we enjoyed our stay very much.

The room is pretty large and comfortable. Small bathroom. Fully stocked kitchenette. Bring or buy breakfast foods as most restaurants are not open for breakfast. Staff does not speak English. If booking for more than 2 people (e.g. kids) expedia only records 2. You need to advise reception at check in time and pay extra fee.

Not close to lake but a lovely hotel.
We were unaware of exactly how steep the roads in the area were, so what seemed a short walk on google maps, was more demanding then we had prepared for. Staff was friendly and location was nice once we had our bearings.

Nice hotel but on a slope
Hotel is on a slope, rather difficult to go up hill with big luggage. Going down hill to Gora station was ok.. Check out was easy. Drop your room key and off you go.

Great accommodation at Hakone.
Apartment style with separate sleeping/dining/living areas. Spacious for 4 persons with comfortable futons. Modern amenities, especially the bathroom. Very Clean and well maintained. Excellent location near Gora Station and close to one of the hakone cable car stations. Helpful staff who provided instructions to nearby places, helped with luggage handling and even gave souvenirs. Good value for money and would definitely stay again

A clean self catering establishment near cable car
E rooms, as it is referred to, is hidden away between two roads and can be hard to find if you happen to miss the sign. Man at reception was pleasant but was very limited in English - but w patience you can communicate. This is a clean but no frills kind of place. It is self catering and there is only one restaurant for dinner nearby, further up the path and up a steep set of stairs and across the road. That restaurant is related to E! rooms and is very good – Italian rather than Japanese. But the quality is very good. Otherwise you have to bring your food into the place and cook, which I did not do. It iis dconvenient in that it is only an eight minute walk to the first cable car station above Gora. From there you can take the cable car to the top of the mountain and then the rope, what we call a gondola, down the mountain to the lake for a boat ride. Hakone is very spread out and you need to take a bus or a boat or the cable card to get around.

Great stay
We only had 1 night here but the unit was very comfortable and clean with everything you need. It was a little tricky to find as we were in a hire car but overall our stay was very good. Check in and staff were very good and spoke good English.

Nice but remote.
Amazing, clean, and comfortable room. We had a lovely stay and would stay again. However the location is remote and it is a long walk to town. It would be good if you have the Hakone Freepass so you can take the tram up and down the hill (it is closest to the 2nd tram stop from Gora). Also prepare to eat early or bring food supplies as all restaurants are closed by 6:30 pm.

This place is like a motel. Its fuss free set up make it affordable yet comfortable. We had a living room, entertainment room and a bedroom. Check in and check out was simple. I had a enjoyable stay.

Nice hotel and friendly staff
Gentleman who checked us in was very nice and helpful ( even though we had a language barrier ) Room was very spacious had a kitchen, lounge , dinning room, bathroom and a washing machine. Only thing i would recomend is either get the cable car to 1st stop or taxi from station. ( we walked from station and the hill was crazy with luggage )

Great for families
Cozy little apartments with kitchen and private bath. Simple, clean and pretty roomy (for Japan). Our room had a washing machine but no dryer. You are expected to lay out your own futons on the faux-tatami bedrooms. I found the futons a little too thin even though they do provide a foam mat to put under each one. Kids loved putting the futons all together for a sleep over. Proprietor speaks a little English, enough to explain things like how to operate the room heater etc. Rooms have a nice view of the surrounding mountains (not Fuji). 6 min walk to convenience store. Get off at Koen-kami cablecar station so you can walk downhill to the hotel.

Ok. A little pricy for what you get.
E-room is located up a bit of a hill, but it's still convenient since the whole town of Gora is so small and walkable. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating, allowing us to drop our bags off in the office as we arrived several hours before check-in. The room was of average size for Japan, but it seemed kinda expensive for how old and bare-bones the hotel is. The Hakone region is beautiful and definitely worth a visit, but you're probably better off staying at a ryokan or just getting a place in Odawara since there are more options down the mountain.

Great little apartment close to the cable car.
The checkin process was fun, despite the gentleman's lack of English. We found the apartment well equipped and well appointed, with many little extras that were unexpected. The location was a few minutes walk from the cable car, as well as most conveniences and attractions. Very quiet area, Which is probably because we were off season, but we enjoyed it very much!

We only stayed 2 nights so the washing machine and kitchen wasn’t really useful for our purpose, the room is roomy and clean and upon check in the staff was very helpful in pointing us to the nearest restaurant and shops. The location is slightly tricky to find but otherwise it was a great experience.

Great stay but inconvenient location.
E ROOMS had a polite staff and the room offers much comfort for travellers. However, it's location is rather hard to get to on foot. It can be reached via cable car but isn't entirely that near the cable car station. Future travellers must be prepared to walk some distance. Do note that it could be tougher for the elderly to reach the accommodation too. The place is located up a hilly area so dragging luggages up will be a hassle. I recommend future travellers to use the hakone cable car to reach the hotel. All that aside, e rooms has made my stay at hakone wonderful and comfortable as well.
