Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort Spa & Casino - All Inclusive

Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort Spa & Casino - All Inclusive

8/10 Good
"My wife & I spent 5 days at Lopesan, and I would rate it an 8 out of 10. Things we loved were: - the room (comfy bed, large shower), - the hotel grounds & overall aesthetic - the pools, especially the new Cenote & lagoon pools (which were perhaps the best hotel pools we have ever seen!!) Can't say enough about the pools... they were spectacular! ... but, there were some downsides to this resort that we just couldn't ignore. Things that need to be improved are: - food quality. The bkfst & lunch buffets were simply not good. I'd rate the buffets 5/10. Awful egg choices, and any decent meats were scarce. The "American" restaurant (Valley) was an absolute joke. It was so bad, I kinda thought it had to be on purpose. There were only 4 couples in there for Sunday dinner, which should have been a red flag... but two of the other restaurants were closed on Sunday, so we rolled the dice... big mistake. This restaurant did have TVs, which were showing the football games, which was the only positive. The Italian & Steak restaurants were actually decent (had really good octopus at the steak restaurant). We wanted to do the steak place again on Sunday, but it was closed?! - the drinks...awful. Everything was either watered-down or made with syrups that ruined the flavor. We are not beer drinkers, so we try to stay "hydrated" at the pools with cocktails. One out of every two mojitos was ok, but the other would be awful. If we decide to go back, it'll be solely to enjoy the new pools."
