It’s what I expected and reflects the price. I was in #1 which was adjacent to the laundry room. It wouldn’t be a problem if you’re out during the day, I spent most of the time in the room.

Our non-smoking room REEKED of cigarettes, and we found an empty package under the bed and ashes on the nightstand - which also tells you what to expect from the housekeeping. The place is also LOUD. You will hear every conversation your neighbors have, as well as their barking dog. The shower wasn't really even working, so that was fun for three nights and four days. And there's no front desk or anyone to complain to, do you just have to deal. Honestly, I NEVER leave negative reviews, but there's no way we'll ever stay here again. Just don't.

The room we stayed in seemed to just be “put back together” the bed sheets were dirty and clearly slept in. Crumbs on the floor. The only thing they did was make the bed and put new towels up.

I booked a night but the room has not been cleaned when I arrived (bed is unmade, dirty towels in the bathroom, trash all over the room). The owner was apologetic but refused to do anything to fix it. I had to pay a lot more money to book a different hotel the day of. There is also basically no reception in the area which made it extra difficult to book.

Close to Grand Lake. Poor interior lightning. No info about the place, including town. No contact with staff except texting. For a several day stay needed a way to remove trash from room. Dirt driveway. Then again it was cheap!

This was a very convenient and reasonably priced place to spend the night on our whirlwind western tour. It is obviously an old roadside motel from the 1960's, however, it has been updated inside and was very clean. Being able to back the car right up to the door is something I appreciate on trips like this where I am "living out of the car." Microwave and fridge are provided, but no breakfast or other amenities. I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice location at a very affordable price. Great amenities of Kitchen utensils, plates & silverware with Fridge & MW. Very comfortable bed. Within a few miles of Grand Lake entrance to the National Park. Ms. Kelly was very helpful. I will stay here again on my next visit.

Great little hideaway!
This is my second time staying at Timberline. Both times everything was very pleasant. I would recommend the motel to anyone looking for an inexpensive stay at Grand Lake.

I like that it was located so close to the RMNP and Grand Lake. However, the establishment is worn down, dated and in need of some love by the owner as well as some rigid training of housekeeping and personnel. Housekeeping lacked quite a bit to be desired, likely this review will illicit a canned and terse response as shown in other review responses. I found shelves and counter tops to be covered in debris, table top and bedside tables were sticky and had sticky spills left on them, coffee pot was still dirty and had dried coffee in the glass carafe, dishes were dirty and sticky in side of a cabinet that had dead bugs, dirt and debris in it. Floors under the beds had not been swept or mopped except for the very edges of the beds. Sheets had some debris on them when we pulled back the covers, room smelled of smoke, saw a person assumed to be housekeeping coming out of a room with a cigarette in his mouth with a dog in tow. Personnel began working on our room door just after we began unloading and settling in, all such activity should be completed prior to guest arrival. An out let quit working during our stay, outlets are out dated and not to building codes i.e. no GFI's on outlets that are within 8 feet of water sources. If you have serious OCD's, work in or have worked in the building inspection, health department or hospitality industries this place may be too uncomfortable for you.

The room was a basic small room with a microwave, mini fridge, and small coffee machine. There was trash on the ground from a previous occupant as well as a dead chipmunk in the toilet.

This is a self-check-in property, which means there is no staff at all there if you need something. This was not mentioned in their booking ad. No office, no clerk, no security. The walls are paper thin. You can hear the neighbors talking in a normal tone of voice, or snoring, or their TV. The toilet had not been cleaned. Floor was dirty. AND: We got locked out of our room for half an hour while it was cold and rainy outside! The keypad wouldn't let us enter the code. We texted the owner and all she would do is say it was our fault. She would not send anyone to help us, or come herself! I finally banged on the keypad with my fist, and the lock opened. I would never go back there!

Very rundown motel outside of the main drag of Grand Lake. Easy check in process but room was dirty. Trash left over and sheets were not cleaned/looked untouched from previous person's stay. Windows were open for airflow because of no AC which is fine but didn't lock and it felt unsafe. Would not recommend, find something else in town.

Outdated and Dirty Unit for Cost
There is no check in process here, no attendant to check in with. We were texted a room number and code for entry. Upon arriving for check in at 4:00pm, our room was still being cleaned and was not ready. The room however, was not very cleanly at all. The floors were dirty, the bathroom was exceptionally dirty (door frames, toilet, floor, sink). Not comfortable enough to try using the shower. The TV had one channel that could not be changed. Duct tape on the wall, bugs in the bathroom. Outdated unit for the cost.

Feels like a warm cabin. Needs a bigger TV relocated away from the big windows facing the lake. Could use a new water heater and a king bed. But I’m a contractor looking at it from that perspective. This place is great and has a lot of potential. We will be back.

Easy check in, door code was sent via text. I was visiting Rocky Mountain National Park and the motel was very close to the park entrance and the rate was super cheap. Shower was pretty dingy and needs a refurb. Other than that, not too bad.

One of the worst places I've ever stayed!! So run down and very old and dirty, disgusting. Musty smelling, lack of lights, soiled furniture and bedding. Paint was yucky. Shower is small with lack of light. Totally gross. In dire need of renovation! Shack out front should be demolished. Noisy from traffic and other residents. Didn't feel safe or comfortable. Could not wait to get the heck out of there!

I received an Email from the property, that i had not opened, my fault. Upon arrival, i walked around trying to find the office to check in. HD to ask a man standing next to an RV where the office was. He wss the owner's brother, the owner was in Room 8 "taking a shower"He said the email would give me the my room number and door code. My cell phone had poor service and i could not access the email. We were told to call the Number on another door and leave a message. The OWNER could not be bothered with coming out and assisting us into our room. We went to town to grab a bite to eat and continued calling, for an Hour. Finally we gave up and rented another room in town and stayed there. The place looks nothing like the photo. Glad we stayed elsewhere!!
