COVID-19 has changed the way we travel, but it hasn't put the brakes on our enthusiasm for exploring. Here are some tips on how to tackle travel's new challenges:

• Before you book a flight, see if any travel restrictions apply — in both your destination and origin. Stay informed with the latest updates by reviewing government and travel websites.
• Requirements state you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at security checkpoints. Be ready to adjust your mask to verify your identity when asked by a TSA officer.
• Instead of handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, place it directly on the reader yourself. Once that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• TSA is now allowing passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will have to be removed from your bag and presented for screening.
• Empty everything from your pockets, like your wallet, coins and keys, and put them in your carry-on rather than into bins. This will reduce handling during screening.
• If you want to take food on the plane, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to handle your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
