Disorganized, unprofessional.
Booked >2 wks in advance. When we arrived around 4:30PM, we were informed our room was not ready, but would be told when it was. We waited nearly an hour at the bar with no news, so we went back to the front desk where employee told us that our room was no longer available and that we would need to stay somewhere else (unlikely in Estes). I asked if they would make those accommodations for us, but was told no. I asked if they could contact their manager, but instead, I was given the manager's phone number and told to call them myself. Of course, the manager didn't answer.
Expedia tried to reach out to the property but they also did not get anyone to answer for 40 minutes. Eventually, they got in touch with the property, and told us that the room would be available after all. It was nearly 8PM when we got back to the hotel. We were told we'd receive a $50 discount for the inconvenience, yet that hasn't happened (yet?).
For breakfast we had a cinnamon roll, banana bread, a cup of tea, and a latte. $25. The atmosphere and location of this property is great. The room was clean. They had a fire pit and some free s'more ingredients.
Side note: The bar/kitchen staff (Derrick I think), was more invested than the front desk. I think he was pulled to help clean several rooms for us and other guests who were in similar situations. He offered us food on the house (sadly we already had dinner). Nice guy.
Overall, management is lacking.
