"When I booked this hotel through Expedia, the listing stated that the facility maintenance would be completed by the end of May. However, upon check-in, I found that construction work was still ongoing in the lobby, even during the weekend, with workers frequently moving around the area. The construction noise could be clearly heard from my guest room, which affected the overall comfort of my stay. In addition, the gym was unavailable for guests to use. I was disappointed that the actual conditions did not match the information provided at the time of booking."

"Great hotel. Very quiet and family friendly and close to very cute coastal towns/legoland. The only reason I’m not giving it more stars is the restaurant/bar was so incredibly slow on a weekday evening and the parking was directly under trees with bugs dropping down (after research it seemed like larvae of some kind)."

"We went to Encinitas for a family vacation, and to our surprise, it turned out to be such a wonderful place to stay. The small, enclosed pool and hot tub were excellent and created a cozy atmosphere. It felt more like a small family gathering than a typical hotel, which we really enjoyed. Parking was super convenient, with plenty of spaces available. Breakfast was great, and the location was close to everything we wanted to visit. We would definitely stay here again. The only downside was the TVs in the rooms - they’re quite basic. Since we were traveling with kids, having a more modern TV with updated features would have made relaxing in the room much more enjoyable."

"What a fabulous little hotel right on the beach in Del Mar! Our rooms were perfect - they were very clean and had everything we needed - even a brush on the outside of the door for brushing the sand off of our feet before we went into our rooms. The staff was amazing - they were constantly going out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We loved having access to the hotel beach towels and boogie boards, and also enjoyed the patio at the back of the hotel where we could lounge and watch the waves or the sunset without actually being on the beach. We also really enjoyed having a fabulous espresso machine available at all times in the lobby. The hotel is located near some restaurants and a beautiful park, and about about a 1/4-mile walk from downtown. We had an amazing stay and will definitely be back! Thank you!!"

"We had a lovely stay at Cardiff by the Sea for my birthday staycation. The property is very quaint but the rooms are rather large and spacious. We treated ourselves to a partial ocean view and fireplace which was fabulous. The staff is also very kind and helpful and they offer complimentary wine upon check-in and continental breakfast in the morning! Lastly, the location is simply ideal as you can easily walk to shops, restaurants, and the beach within 5 to 10 minutes. Highly recommend!"
