"Could not recommend this accommodation enough - a real hidden gem! Massive, secure 2 bedroom apartment in a wider bunkhouse complex which was, when we stayed, not occupied. Only 5 mins drive from Kirriemuir and so quiet and peaceful - in the heart of the countryside. Comms were great and all mod cons throughout including WiFi, TVs in all rooms and even a starter hamper! Will definitely book again. The dog loved the outdoor space which is literally ‘on your doorstep’! A+"

"The property was on the banks of a river with lots of green space and walks for the dog. There was plenty of parking and nothing seemed to be cramped."

"A lovely hotel run by lovely staff. We were in the apartment which was fully kitted out and a pleasant place to spend the night. Didn't have tea there, but came back for some delicious puddings, and breakfast was tasty and filling. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel, and plan to return. Excellent value for money."

"The hotel is probably as good as it gets in Kirriemuir. It’s a strange little hotel and many of the rooms are outwith the main building. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work, the window didn’t open and the heating was on - though it was summer! However the food was good and the staff were marvellous."

"The room was clean enough but it is an Old Building . The meals were great and very enjjoyble. but the staff were absolutely SUPERB. It is a family owned and run Hotel and you could not wish for better attention or Help.No it is not 5 star but the Staff make up for the Minor faults. thank you all for a Very Pleasant stay. "The castle is very unique experience (and authentic) and Robbie is a real character (in the best way possible)! Breakfast was excellent with a range of options. The room and bed was very comfy. You absolutely feel like you are going back in time. Would stay again. Also the walk down to the beach is worth the wee 2 minute walk as there are some amazing rounded beach pebbles to collect."

"Our fist visit to Montrose. Lovely hotel which met all our needs in terms of friendliness, cleanliness, amenities and location. We had a very plentiful, tasty breakfast. Great atmosphere in the evening when there was a live band and a busy function suite. Have already recommended this hotel and this town to friends."
