Mary was very welcoming and anything we needed to know or need help with Mary obliged. We had to leave early on departure, but she got up and gave us a good Continental Breakfast.

Very comfortable stay and amazing breakfast. We stayed here just one night to get to and from Edinburgh airport. The X18 bus comes right to the property (1hr ride) for about £5 or you can take a cab (25min) for about £40. We were pleased to see there were plenty of fast food places around that are open until 11pm or midnight - not all small towns in Scotland are like this. Only downside is we could not find an email address with which to contact the hosts during our travels, and since we don't have UK numbers we had to rely on courtesy phones to get in touch with them regarding check-in. Would highly recommend The Gables and their lovely hosts.
