"We had an excellent stay at the Hotel Jokulsarlon. Sadly, the country was in a major weather alert situation so the views you would typically see were not visible. Despite this, we were able to still do a Glacier Lagoon boat tour and enjoy the hotels outdoor hot tubs. We also enjoyed a wonderful meal at the restaurant. On check-out day, the sun came out and we did get to see what the normal setting is and it truly is spectacular. The rooms are super nice and they provide slippers and robes for the trip to the hot tubs. We enjoyed our visit to the area very much and are glad we stayed two nights. This enabled us to have a second chance at the Diamond Beach. It is beautiful in any weather but extra so in the sun. We stayed in a Glacier View Room. They also offer Mountain View Rooms which is also nice given there are 4 waterfalls spilling down the mountains. I really enjoyed the sitting areas near floor to ceiling windows where comfy sofas and chairs are provided to enjoy tea or coffee or a cocktail. Speaking of which....the Midnight Sun martini (Orange gin, white wine and aperol) has to be one of the best cocktails I have ever had! "
