「We loved our two nights stay at Melfort House. It was peaceful idyll that restored us somewhat as we were nearing the end of our road trip through Scotland. Matthew is a wonderful host, and we felt welcome in his home. The breakfast offerings were top notch, and our room and bed were so comfortable. 「The room was the best we had on our trip. It had shampoo, conditioner, soap in both the sink area and the shower. There was cold water and milk in the refrigerator and coffee/ tea. There was also a heated towel rack and great big towels. They also provided a shower cap. It was large enough that you could both move around the room. Highly recommend」

「The stumbling block for this hotel is they have no parking, but there is long term public parking for $7.50 within a 3 minute walk. The hotel is what you would expect for a 4 star hotel, clean room, comfortable bed, good amenities, professional helpful staff and an excellent breakfast.」

「It was a very basic accommodation with one bed and one chair and shared washrooms. I felt like I was in a cell」

「Over price, facilities too old」

「Both elevators were out at one point, the staff couldn’t check me in even minutes earlier than the 3pm guideline,and the whole ‘meal thing’ felt weird about inclusions or exclusions. Pay to park (but only 10 pounds) for two nights - but still…great location for rail or ferry, but the staff couldn’t check use an upgrade. PS. Why are the damn hallways so narrow to your room? I could barely get by a maids cart…seems like the fire regulations would be wider. Narrowest I have ever seen in any hotel....

「The darling couple who own and run the B&B are extremely delightful. Our hostess started us off in the morning with a delightful breakfast, good cup of coffee and good advice or directions to our days activities. She made sure we enjoyed ourselves. The bonus was the view from the property was gorgeous.」
