"We were walking the wales coast path and had not factored in the demand around Cardiff for accommodation when concerts are on. The student accommodation was the only reasonable priced option we could get for the weekend ( still more expensive than a premier inn) The main issue was heat, the room was very warm, a fan was provided but the window is only open a few issues (H&S) therefore circulating warm air. "The car park is tight and my defender would not fit... this was not apparent until i had passed through the barrier...hotel reception guy was very helpful though. One elevator was not functioning meaning the other was very slow and often full. The hotel is used by foreign coach trippers. The buffet breakfast service was terrible really, few clean tables, find your own seat and cuttlery. Tables did not seem to be cleaned between uses. The coffee machines were not working properly either, with queues for a cuppa. Fruit juices were not refilled. The jam dispenser is not easy to use and is very messy... why not just have the little packs or jars? The same goes for the yoghurt selection."

"Easy check in/check out at the kiosk. The staff was very friendly, and avaliable. Room service was excellent and fairly priced. I reccomed the pizza and pastrami sandwich. Great access to the city, lots of fun pubs close by. Walking distance to everything. Still water and toilet paper everyday. Excited to come back again!"

"We enjoyed our time on property. We used our two nights here to recharge our batteries mid trip. My wife and daughter enjoyed the pool & spa. The breakfast buffet is included in your rate and met all our needs, including our daughter who has celiac disease and needs gluten free items. The only breakfast item that could be improved is the eggs. They taste powdered. The menu for the outdoor terrace was delicious. We enjoyed the burrata and salmon salads. The wine and drink selection were appreciated. The staff was trained well and their service standards were noticeable. The room was clean and well appointed. No a/c in the rooms but fans were available for us to use. The only downside is that the windows don't open wide enough to create great work flow. Thanks for the great stay..."

"The main pro of this hotel is its location. Less than a 2 min walk to the water front, theatre, bars and restaurants. The location is fantastic. The hotel is clean, tidy and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel also has a car park, £20 for 24hrs which for Bristol, is good value. PARKING NEEDS TO BE BOOKED WITH THE HOTEL IN ADVANCE - THERE ARE ONLY LIMITED SPACES. Dont try to message them through this app - I tried it and didn’t get a response. Just call the hotel direct. The room is clean and adequate - the other everything you need, but it was fairly empty and basic. It didn’t have the ‘wow’ factor you’d expect from the location, building and reception area. Not really an issue for me, but worth noting. Brekfast was good - the only thing I will comment on is that I asked once of the staff about the ingredients in the sausage (gluten allergy). She said it was gluten free, but then another member of staff overheard and said it wasn’t….. they confirmed in the kitchen that they were gluten free (which was great), but as someone with a food allergy, it doesn’t fill me with confidence when two members of staff say something different. Obviously this won’t be an issue to most people, but one thing from having an allergy is that you need to be confident in what you’re being told - because it could spoil a trip away. Just a small point that I think management could raise with staff - make them aware of ingredients so they can inform customers confidently and correctl"
